In recent decades, town and city centres have changed beyond recognition.

Out-of-town shopping and an emerging digital economy have caused huge disruption. However, there remain some aspects where towns and cities across the UK and Ireland are unassailable.

With history and heritage dating back sometimes centuries, their cultural relevance and community roots in everyday life are unmatched. If these assets are used to their full potential then the ability to deliver pride in place, footfall and investment is powerful. So can we use culture and community as platforms for relevance in a world subject to rapid change?

The theme for the 2025 Summer School is ‘How to Maximise our Cultural and Community Assets’. This two day event will take place in Bradford, the 2025 City of Culture, and will deliver a programme packed with learnings on powerful urban story-telling, hosting world class events and community empowerment.

Summer School will include keynotes, panel debates, workshops, study tours, the Purple Flag Awards and the Town and City Management Industry Awards.

Join us for the place management event of the year.
