About the Event
In recent months, fears about the links between struggling high streets and organised crime have grown.
The concern is that persistently vacant commercial property is being exploited for criminal activity, including selling unlicensed, counterfeit products, drug dealing, and money laundering. The problem is reportedly so serious that the BBC has extensively covered the issue through investigative reporting, and the Home Office has now formed a High Street Organised Crime Unit.
Do we have a wide-spread problem? For this session of High Street Conversations we are asking members whether we have an organised crime crisis.
