With the change in government last year came a cull in policies impacting high streets with some notable exceptions. High Street Rental Auctions is one of those exceptions.
In early December, High Street Rental Auctions became effective, giving local authorities the power to put long-term vacant units up for auction. The hope is, this tool will swing the balance of power away from absent landlords and into the hands of local authorities. Is it a game changer? Or is it too bureaucratic to deliver real change?
