About the Event
The perma-crisis continues.
The breakout of war between Iran, the US, and Israel has big implications for the energy market. The escalation of tensions across the Middle East has left major economies across the globe vulnerable to steep inflationary pressures. For the UK and Ireland, this is significant for the business community.
When the cost of living became a crisis issue in the wake of COVID and the Russia-Ukraine war, high-street businesses were exposed to both rising costs and falling consumer spending. Those problems still persist today, leaving many on the high street on the brink of closure.
This emergency session of HSC will discuss the emerging challenges and ask if history is repeating itself and what support members think needs to be in place to protect as many businesses as possible should this new war become prolonged.
