About the Event
The polls are showing a significant swing away from the Labour Party who are governing both in Cardiff and Westminster. The emergence of Reform UK, the Green Party and Plaid Cymru pose a challenge to the incumbent UK and Welsh governments, and this is already being felt in public policy impacting the high street.
The next meeting of ATCM Wales will explore how the shadow of the 2026 Senedd election and Westminster politics is shaping town and city centre related policies. We will discuss the Pride in Place Programme, investment in policing, business rates reform proposals and the implementation of a visitor levy and what it means for tourism and public finances.
We will also discuss preparations for Christmas to discuss the sentiment of high street businesses and exchange knowledge on the work being done in different areas to build footfall for the busiest time of year.
