ATCM Scotland: Bringing Empty Property Back Into Use

US trade policy is sending shockwaves across the globe. Every government is keen to protect their local economies during the turbulence and uncertainty. John Swinney’s decision to bring forward the Programme for Government shows that Scotland is no different.

One area where quick wins should exist, but is too often neglected is the opportunity afforded by property that sits empty in many town centres. This space could be used in the provision of services for a local community, could boost economic capacity or relieve pressure on a housing crisis. So, what are the barriers and how do we overcome them?

ATCM Scotland will convene in Edinburgh to continue an ongoing discussion about how we bring vacant property back into use.
