ATCM North West: Understanding the Shadow Economy

Not all the economic activity that happens on the high street is immediately visible to the public.

Challenges around demand for commercial space has opened up property to various uses outside of what might be considered ‘traditional’. Whether its uses in the name of tax avoidance or uses in the name of the production of illegal drugs, members have highlighted instances where this is happening just out of view on the high street.

The next meeting of the North West regional group will explore this issues in an attempt to understand the implications on, and responsibilities of the place management industry.
