While change is always inevitable, the pace we are experiencing change is unprecedented.

There is the break neck speed of a technological revolution taking us from the emergence of an online economy at the turn of the century to talk of large scale industrial shifts thanks to AI just a generation later. There is the rapid change in politics with growing social divisions. We have an ageing population and growing social need which is stretching resources for the public sector, especially local government. And, underpinning is rapidly evolving consumer and business behaviour. How can we make sense of it all.

This ATCM Midlands roundtable will consider what the possible futures are for towns and cities, and those responsible for managing them. ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly’ different scenarios and explore some of the big challenges and opportunities for the place management industry.
