ATCM Cities Group: Devolution and the Future of City Governance

If MHCLG are on track then we are just days away from the publication of the English Devolution Bill. The UK Government has earmarked devolution as a key component of its policy-making agenda. In an effort to enhance local government services there will be more powers at a local level, and for England specifically, a major reorganisation of local government structures.

This virtual meeting of the ATCM Cities Group will ask what this means for cities and city regions, Big City BIDs and city centre managers. We will have an open discussion on how we influence elected members in new governance structures, what impact this might have on tensions over resources and what operational issues we need to identify. Information gathered at this virtual meeting will impact ATCM’s long-term policy agenda.
