On the 22nd May 2017, a suicide bomber killed 22 people at the Manchester Arena. The tragic event looks set to usher in a new era of counter-terrorism.

The Protect Duty, now known as Martyn’s Law in memory of Martyn Hett who was one of the victims of the bombing, will be a step forward in keeping people safe. This could be timely.

As the conflict in Gaza wages on, there are concerns about the impact this might have for national security globally which questions being raised about the potential for a new wave of security challenges. We cannot be complacent about keeping people safe.

While the Terrorism bill travels through Parliament, there is a need to get ahead of the game. How can we adapt even before the legislation gets Royal Assent, and what other updates on counter terrorism do we need to know about?
