Four Place Leaders Join New BIDs Steering Committee

Representatives for England Selected Following Election

Following an extremely close election for representation from England, four Place Leaders were chosen to join the BIDs Steering Committee.

They are:

Jonathon Bryce, Southside BID (Birmingham)
Sara Tupper, Chelmsford BID
Allison Herbert, Bath BID (pictured above)
Vivienne Kennedy, Bristol BID

Originally, only three representatives were going to be selected. However, with two BID leaders tied for third place sharing the same number of votes—and both bringing valuable expertise—the decision was made to bring both on board.

They join:

Stephen Patterson, Newcastle NE1 - Chair
Nicole Gordon, Better Bankside - Vice Chair
Carolyn Brownell, FOR Cardiff - Wales Representative
Roddy Smith, Essential Edinburgh - Scotland Representative

ATCM will be working to secure representation across the island of Ireland.

Welsh representative for the BIDs Steering Committee, Carolyn Brownell, Executive Director of FOR Cardiff, keynotes at Summer School.

The BIDs Steering Committee will be responsible for shaping ATCM's support for BIDs with regards to:

Peer-to-peer support
Professional development; and
Advocacy

The Committee took a big step forward at this year's Summer School as Stephen Patterson formally took on the role of Chair from Stefan Gurney (Norwich BID) during the Town and City Management Industry Awards dinner. Stephen and Vice Chair, Nicole Gordon, also hosted a workshop, talking through different issues that the Committee needs to consider going forward.
