Markets, Fairs and Town Centre Operation Officer (L160)

Grade P02 (SCP 39 – 42) £34,195 - £36,937 per annum, pro-rata

Part-time, 18.5 hours

Charnwood Borough Council requires a part-time Markets, Fairs and Town Centre Operation Officer to work as a job share.

The current post holder is responsible for the delivery of Loughborough’s markets; management of Loughborough Fair, town centre events and town centre facilities including festive lights, toilets and shop mobility.

The post holder is also expected to work closely with Loughborough Business Improvement district (BID) to promote Loughborough by co-ordinating events and initiatives to assist in the regeneration of Loughborough town centre.

Loughborough Market is held every Thursday and Saturday is recognised as one of the most successful and popular markets in the region. This historic Charter Market occupies pride of place in the town centre and plays a major role in the wellbeing and vitality of the town.

Successful applicants will have significant experience of all the principles of town centre management and knowledge and experience in the co-ordination of large scale events, event planning and working with the business community. As this post will operate as a job share, experience of managing markets would be desirable but not essential.

We are looking for an organised and proactive individual to compliment the current post holder who can be flexible, efficient and effective in the delivery of a dynamic service which plays a major role in the economic and regeneration of the town.

If you have the relevant experience and a passion for town centres and excellent interpersonal skills we would love to hear from you.
