Watford Business Improvement District (Watford BID) is looking for an experienced Marketing & Communications Manager who has the same level of passion, belief and commitment to Watford as our Board and the town centre businesses. 

Working with a small team we are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual who can help deliver our plans for Watford town centre and make a real difference.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of the role

The Watford BID marketing manager plays a key role in positively promoting Watford BID and the activities we undertake, boosting the profile of Watford and working with businesses to ensure we make the most of our town's great offer.

 

Responsible for:

 

Marketing Strategy

  • Development, management and delivery of Marketing Strategy for Watford town & BID, this will also include branding
  • Work with key stakeholders and partners to ensure a synergy of communications & branding across the town
  • Development and implementation of targeted marketing campaigns to attract and retain visitors, footfall and spend in the town

 

Events and Campaigns

  • Management & development of campaigns, events, activities which meet BID objectives
  • Commissioning & management of a wide range of communications and marketing materials, including campaigns, publications, exhibitions, events, publications, displays, newsletters and presentation, as required

 

Social Media

  • Developing and maintaining all BID digital platforms, including websites and social media
  • Manage content development

 

Innovation

  • Explore new initiatives and ways of working with stakeholders and partners which demonstrate innovation and increasing awareness of technology and its use in the town centre

 

Partnerships

  • Work effectively with a range of stakeholders to deliver a wide range of campaigns while demonstrating value for money and including generating income to support BID and cross stakeholder initiatives
  • Lead and develop strong relationships with the media and partner organisations

 

Corporate responsibilities

  • Manage all allocated budgets effectively and ensure value for money 
  • Ensure projects have clear KPIs and report outcomes to Chief Executive & Board

 

Skills & qualifications

  • Educated to degree level of equivalent
  • Knowledge pf different communication & marketing techniques and mediums
  • Understanding of working with complex partnerships
  • Skilled marketing & communication professional
  • IT skills
  • Knowledge of working at Board level 

 

Experience

  • Working in marketing & communications
  • Working with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders from the public and private sector
  • Managing & implementing a range of projects
  • Managing budgets
  • Writing reports & proposals
  • IT knowledge across a range of products including Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint
