Package: £25,000 - £27,500 depending on experience; Contributory Pension; 25 days Annual Leave + Public Holidays. 35 hours per week. Based in High Wycombe town centre.




The High Wycombe Business Improvement District (BID) became operational on 1st October 2012 after being successful at ballot in July that year. After five successful years the BID was renewed for a further five years in 2017. HWBIDCo is tasked with driving forward a powerful, focused agenda for change in High Wycombe Town Centre to ensure a thriving future for the town and its businesses. HWBIDCo works to make the area more attractive and vibrant and ensure it is well represented, serviced and promoted.


Our Team

We are a small, close-knit team who have created and are delivering a range of events, promotional material and improved visitor experiences to build on High Wycombe’s vibrant, and popular centre. The role will be based in our town centre offices and includes occasional out of hours and weekend work.


About You

This post requires someone committed and enthusiastic. You must be a rational thinker who can problem-solve and ensure smooth delivery of events and projects from the planning stages to delivery. You must be able to co-ordinate sub-contractors and partners, whilst working with the BID team to deliver valuable projects to the business community. Being organised and prioritising your workload will be the key to success.


Main Areas of Responsibility;

  • To deliver the annual business plans set by the Board of Directors and BID Manager through direct action and the encouragement of the involvement of others
  • Undertake delegated responsibility for specific projects
  • Support the Town Ranger in the overall running of the security initiative
  • Event planning and logistics, partially formal obligations and health and safety
  • Build everyday working relationships with partners and Levy Payers
  • Scoping of, introductions to and liaison with, local contractors
  • Feed marketing stories and regular updates to our Marketing & Communications Co-ordinator
  • All tasks relating to the day-to-day management of the company accounts
  • All tasks relating to the good day-to-day management of the office
  • Contributing to the databases and systems (such as ACT and Xero etc)
  • Negotiation with commercial organisations wishing to use public space in the town centre
  • Support the BID team in taking and typing up minutes from group meetings
  • Any other duty as seen appropriate by the BID Manager

This should not be considered an exhaustive list of responsibilities and it is expected that the Project & Events Manger role will grow and develop as the BID moves closer to renewal.


Person Specification



  • Good working knowledge of back-office administration
  • Ability to deliver processes that will support a multitude of different tasks and priorities running concurrently
  • Financial management and commercial awareness
  • IT literate (Office 365, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)
  • Experience of event planning, safety and logistics
  • Experience of working with the public
  • Demonstrable initiative and enthusiasm
  • Possess good planning, delivery and problem-solving skills
  • A creative, inventive outlook and the ability to articulate and implement your ideas
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and deliver hands-on help as part of the team
  • Ability to work well in multi-disciplined/cross-functional teams



  • Local knowledge
  • Ability to work creatively within an allocated project budget to negotiate best value when commissioning services or expertise
  • Experience of representing a business in meetings and during events and promotions
  • Experience of working with a range of agencies and stakeholders in partnership
