Working Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week. To work every other Weekend (both Saturday & Sunday)

Visit Cambridge & Beyond is the official tourism service for Cambridge and the surrounding area and delivers a wide range of tourism services. Cambridge BID Limited represents over 1200 Cambridge businesses and delivers a whole host of projects aimed at creating the best user experience for those living, visiting and working in Cambridge.

Visit Cambridge delivers the Ambassador service on behalf of Cambridge BID, and this service forms a key aspect of the city visitor welcome.

We are looking for an Ambassador to join our expanding team in the heart of Cambridge, to grow and promote the city, and the surrounding areas by providing the best visitor experience.

Our Ambassadors visit businesses within the BID area & provide information and updates on BID initiatives; as well as being Ambassadors for the city and helping users of the City Centre to make the most of their time in Cambridge. The team are also a vital link between businesses and organisations within the BID Area and Cambridge BID.

 

As an Ambassador, you will need to:

  • Greet visitors, promote the city & provide useful information on how visitors can best spend their time whilst in Cambridge.
  • Demonstrate the highest levels of customer service at all times.
  • Work with fellow Ambassadors and Colleagues, to ensure that events run smoothly, as well as promoting local events to visitors and businesses.
  • Engage with business located in the BID area, in order to provide regular updates on key BID projects and initiatives.
  • Liaise with agencies on environmental and anti-social behaviour issues.
  • Provide support to the Ambassador Supervisor, to ensure the smooth day to day running of the service.
  • Assist in the Visit Cambridge ‘Meet & Greet’ Service, to provide a professional visitor welcome.
  • Assist in ensuring that key information is updated as necessary, to certify that the correct material is provided to users of the city.

 

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience in a customer facing role.
  • Be committed to delivering the highest quality of customer service to visitors of the city, and businesses in the BID area.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the city of Cambridge.
  • Be able to work effectively within a team of Ambassadors.
  • Be willing to participate in service-related training and development.

 

It is important to note this role includes Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday duties on a rota basis.
