Package:  £35,000 - 40,000 depending on experience; Contributory Pension; 25 days Annual Leave + Public Holidays. 35 hours per week. Based in High Wycombe town centre.



The High Wycombe Business Improvement District (BID) became operational on 1st October 2012 after being successful at ballot in July that year. After five successful years the BID was renewed for a further five years in 2017. HWBIDCo is tasked with driving forward a powerful, focused agenda for change in High Wycombe Town Centre to ensure a thriving future for the town and its businesses. HWBIDCo works to make the area more attractive and vibrant and ensure it is well represented, serviced and promoted.


Our Team

We are a small, close-knit team who have created and are delivering a range of events, promotional material and improved visitor experiences to build on High Wycombe’s vibrant, and popular centre. The role will be based in our town centre offices and includes occasional out of hours and weekend work.


About You

We are seeking a figurehead for the organisation. You must be proactive in meeting with, and listening to, the needs of our Levy Payers. Your role will include being the point of contact for the Local Authorities and you will be required to represent the needs of our Levy Payers at relevant project board/committee meetings. You MUST have excellent communication skills as you will be required to attend and host business networking meetings. You will also have previous experience in leading a team as you will be the link between our Board of Directors and the BID Team.


Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • To be the driving-force of the BID’s business plan 2017-2022 throughout our second term to our next ballot in 2022
  • To deliver the business plan, meeting objectives and targets agreed annually with the Board of Directors and leading the BID team on all project delivery
  • To be the ‘face’ of the BID
  • To be the main point of contact for levy payers, local authority and other stakeholders
  • Ensure that you and the company have a visible presence with the businesses, partners and stakeholders
  • To regularly report to the BID’s Board of Directors and any sub-groups, providing written reports before each meeting
  • To manage sector groups and create new groups when relevant
  • To monitor the BID’s performance, including oversight of financial arrangements
  • To line manage staff and contractors, including recruitment, procurement, assessment, etc
  • To ensure the highest standards of customer (Levy Payer) care
  • To help establish and maintain all administration systems within the office
  • Contribute to the annual budget process, including monitoring income and expenditure

This should not be considered an exhaustive list of responsibilities, and it is expected that the BID Manger role will grow and develop as the BID moves closer to renewal.

  • Able to think strategically and deliver project goals whilst maintaining a focus on customer care
  • Ability to work well in multi-disciplined/cross-functional teams
  • Sound financial understanding
  • IT literate (Office 365, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)



  • Local knowledge
  • Experience in a customer-facing management role
  • Experience of BIDs or town centre management
  • Industry related qualifications or certification
  • Experience of working with a range of agencies and stakeholders in partnership
  • Consumer marketing, communications and PR
  • Motivational skills
