Deputy CEO takes over the top job with unanimous Board approval
ATCM’s Deputy CEO Shanaaz Carroll will assume the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer commencing 1 November 2014. The announcement has been made following the recent news that former CEO Martin Blackwell is moving to the Charity Retail Association and leaves ATCM on 31 October 2014.
Alexander Nicoll , Chairman of ATCM, said “The Board are delighted to appoint Shanaaz Carroll, who has substantial experience of working at both local and national Government levels. Well-respected by our members and by key stakeholders throughout the UK and town centre management partners abroad who work with the ATCM, Shanaaz is the right person to help develop the ATCM as we continue to focus on ensuring the services we offer to our loyal and hard-working membership are the very best they can be.”
Shanaaz Carroll stated “I am excited by this new challenge, and am looking forward to working with our excellent team and the Board to ensure the organisation reaches its full potential. With a General Election just around the corner, the next few months will be crucial in ensuring that the future economic development and prosperity of our towns and cities is high up on the political and policy making agenda – we will be supporting our members by highlighting the importance of what they do for local economies and ensuring that their voice is heard at the very highest level of decision making.”
