With a £2bn masterplan that will transform the town centre, Rotherham is looking ahead to the future. The Rotherham Renaissance Programme is moving rapidly as we embark on the delivery of this masterplan with projects already under way. But in order to create a vibrant town centre we recognise that great places are not created solely through physical development, but by creating a safe and welcome environment for our businesses, visitors and residents. And that’s where you will come in.
You will lead the co-ordination of the Town Centre Safety Action Plan, working in partnership with the town centre Safer Neighbourhoods Team and a wide range of public and private partners to reduce incidents of crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour.
With experience of working on crime reduction initiatives within a business crime/community safety or town centre management environment, you’ll have a proven track record of partnership and multi-agency working and a knowledge of crime reduction issues within a town centre and retail environment.
An excellent Communicator able to use your problem solving and analytical skills to focus on key priorities across both the day and evening economies, you will generate income through the development of a new town centre business watch partnership in order to support future activity.

The Camberley Town Centre Community Interest Company has just been incorporated, and is well supported by both the local business community and local authority. The Town Centre Manager will be employed by the company to work for the benefit of the town, and shape the company into an effective and sustainable enterprise.

Camberley as a town is changing rapidly, with the Atrium mixed use development well underway, bringing 132,000 square feet of retail space, 128,500 square feet of leisure and restaurant use, a 638 space multi-storey car park, and 217 apartments to the town.

But that’s not the end, it is just the beginning! There is more work to be done to continue the town’s regeneration, turning it into a real destination of choice for homes, shopping, and leisure well into the future.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Regeneration Unit for a Town Centres Team Co-ordinator to help transform our approach to the management town centres in the South of our Borough. Building on our excellent track record of working in partnership with businesses, this post will help us transform service delivery through the attraction of inward investment and the improved management of the public realm. It will help shape the Borough in the context of the London 2012 Olympics and
developments in the Lower Lea and will contribute to the delivery of our own area action plans in town centre areas.

You will have experience of working in the field of regeneration, preferably in a town centres context, a good understanding of the factors that make successful town centres and the ability to translate policy into action through effective partnership working. Strong leadership skills and management experience will combine with energy, enthusiasm and political awareness to help us deliver town centre management services which are befitting of our location and which our customers and businesses deserve.

The post is for a fixed-term to cover a service review period but may be extended following the completion of the review.

In this role you will be responsible for the development and implementation of economic development and town centre strategies and action plans. You will engage with key stakeholders and council staff with a view to developing and implementing Economic Development, Town Centre and related strategies, action plans and promote the interests of the Council in these areas.

You will provide advice and facilitate the delivery of a range of initiatives relating to tourism, regeneration and town centre management. This will include tourism and visitor events, training and employment initiatives and a range of marketing, environmental and economic measures, to improve the vitality and vibrancy of the city, town and village centres.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent with preferably a professional qualification in Regeneration or similar. Knowledge of key policy issues related to Economic Development and Town Centre Management including the potential impact of regeneration and tourism on local communities and the local economy are essential for this post

You must be computer literate, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and possess the ability to interpret complex information, including government guidance and legislation. A general understanding of statistical techniques and the ability to interpret and analyse local trends and identify the key features of the local economy and labour market are required for this role.

This is a politically restricted post within the meaning of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

The London Borough of Merton is seeking Town Centre Managers for Morden and Colliers Wood. The town centres face differing challenges and your roll will be to work with local businesses and local residents in the town centres, other statutory agencies and the Council to achieve livelier town centres. You will need to work as part of a team and in partnership with others, both internally and externally to the Council.
You will need to be able to deliver initiatives and outcomes, both on time and to budget and be able to balance a varied workload. You will need experience of working in a partnership environment. The duties can be carried out as one full-time post covering Morden and Colliers Wood, OR two part-time posts covering Morden or Colliers Wood.

There’s an exciting opportunity ahead for Cornwall’s capital city if proposals to form a Business Improvement District (BID) for Truro are approved this summer.

If businesses in the city vote ‘yes’ to contributing 1% of their rateable value to make Truro a better place to do business, then Totally Truro will need a talented professional to deliver a £1.5 million programme of city improvements over five years starting in October 2007.

Accountable to all contributing businesses through the board of Totally Truro, a not-for-profit limited company, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the BID programme is delivered effectively, on time and within budget.

We are looking for someone who has a successful track record of managing complex projects including events, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, has experience of town centre management, marketing and promotion expertise and sound financial management skills.
