The role, based in Warwick, seeks to develop that initiative, combining traditional town centre management with the provision of general support to the delivery of town centre related projects.

We’ll look to you to co-ordinate the development and delivery of the Town Centre Action Plan with our partners, aimed at developing retailing, the night time economy and Warwick’s unique blend of culture and tourism. You’ll also provide support to town centre projects which the local authorities are charged with delivering.

We’re looking for a dedicated team player with accomplished communication skills - an excellent negotiator and motivator with plenty of initiative. Alongside at least 3 years experience in a pressured environment, you’ll have a degree level qualification and a good commercial understanding. You’ll also be able to prioritise your workload and plan projects to put them into effect.

Blackpool is the UK’s premier holiday resort and attracts millions of visitors each year. It plays a vital part in the economic life of Lancashire’s Fylde coast.
In addition to the multi million pound regeneration of the seafront promenade, major investment in various exciting town centre projects is scheduled to take place over the next few years transforming Blackpool into a world class resort.
Blackpool Town Centre BID won the first successful ballot in the Northwest and came into being on 1st. October 2005, for an initial 5 year period.
Since then, the BID, which is a continuation of the former Town Centre Management partnership established in 1994, has been successfully delivering a wide programme of initiatives alongside the substantial redevelopment and investment taking place in the resort, including the town centre’s Houndshill shopping centre.
There are plans to develop a separate Seafront BID which would work closely with the Town Centre BID, sharing where relevant, resources and initiatives.
Blackpool Town Centre BID is now seeking to appoint a BID manager to replace the present retiring Manager, after 13 years as head of the Town Centre Management and more recently BID partnerships. The role will be to continue the delivery of the current BID business plan, building upon the excellent work already carried out, and to focus heavily on the new BID Proposal and balloting campaign in 2010
We are looking for someone who has a successful track record of managing complex projects including events, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, has experience of town centre management, marketing and promotion expertise and sound financial management skills. Experience of securing grant funding and sponsorship would be an advantage.

VisitWorcester is the city centre and visitor management company set up in February 2007 to develop Worcester as a leading destination for business and visitors. A beautiful cathedral and university city, set on the banks of the river Severn, we have aspirations to see our city and its visitor economy develop significantly over the next five years.
The Role
To help us to achieve these aspirations, we are looking to set up a Business Improvement District which will deliver the necessary support and funding from the local community to add to existing management budgets. We have ambitious plans to deliver a range of exciting and carefully targetted events to attract business and leisure visitors, an effective marketing campaign to bring one of the Midland’s hidden gems to the notice of a wider public and a clean, green and safe strategy to make Worcester one of the most desirable cities in the country. An opportunity has arisen for a Town Centres' Manager to help promote and develop the economic vibrancy and vitality of north Kirklees, particularly Batley and Dewsbury. The Towns' Management team, based in Dewsbury, co-ordinates a wide range of events and activities, liaises with the business community and prepares marketing initiatives, including organisation of Batley's Carnival for Life, Christmas lights, In Bloom and Tidy Trader competitions, retail crime reduction, 'housekeeping' audits and production of leaflets, newsletters and a web site.

The regeneration of towns in north Kirklees is at an exciting stage with substantial development proposals in Dewsbury and major public realm and property improvement schemes being carried out in other town centres. The Town Centres' Manager will assist in promoting these initiatives, in consultation with local Members, businesses, local organisations and the local public.

We are seeking someone who has outstanding qualities in dealing with both public and private sectors, particularly in the areas of promotion, joint working and co-ordinated management. An understanding of the retail industry and processes of local government is also essential.

You will demonstrate a wide knowledge of town centre issues and have excellent verbal and written communication skills with enthusiasm and ability to motivate others.
