Leamington Spa - Town Centre Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Town Centre Manager for Leamington Spa. Reporting to the Head of Economic Development and Regeneration, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the vitality and viability of the town both north and south of the river.
Working alongside the newly formed Leamington Business Improvement District, you will deliver strategies to increase the number of visitors to the town, use your business acumen to best utilise resources and funding, and promote partnerships with local businesses.
You will have experience of working under the pressure of many priorities, a good political awareness and educated to degree level or equivalent. Plus you will enjoy the challenge of balancing the needs of local businesses and residents.
You will work a minimum of 30 hours week, which could be extended to full time with mutual agreement.

Stratford-upon-Avon - Town Partnership CEO

We are looking for a business leader who can help shape and promote one of England’s most iconic towns - Stratford-upon-Avon – as CEO of the active and energetic Town Management Partnership.

We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated person with vision, enthusiasm, tact, and diplomacy to encourage enterprise and innovation within the town, helping business members meet 21st century challenges and giving members a clear and effective voice at local, regional and national level. The CEO is responsible to an active Board for managing the staff and delivering an annual work programme of promotion and member services. The CEO will lead the Partnership in playing an active role in major initiatives underway in the town, including World Class Stratford and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Theatre Transformation and assuring potential visitors that the town is still “open for business.”
Applicants should be educated to degree level and have excellent communications skills, together with a good understanding of Partnership working and the dynamics of how local government and the private sector operate. Some experience of marketing and public relations will be required.
The post will initially be offered as a three year renewable contract and will report to the Partnership’s Board. Interviews will be held in early May and the successful candidate will be expected to start work on, or before, 1 July 2008.

A key vacancy has arisen in the Planning department for a Senior Town Centre Manager to act as the Council’s lead officer for the development and promotion of the borough’s retail centres. Your key tasks will be to implement the borough’s town centre strategy and develop and promote initiatives aimed at raising the profile and economic viability of the retail sector in Lewisham and to maximise access to external funding sources to support this work.

You will act as the driving force for the implementation of the action plan for Catford town centre aimed at building strong relationships with, and raising skill levels of, local businesses, and the community to encourage investment.

You must have a thorough knowledge of how town centres work and a proven track record of project management techniques including innovative marketing strategies, managing budgets and achieving service standards. You will also need experience of supervising and delegating workloads as well as supporting and attracting the interest of businesses, voluntary sector agencies and local residents. You should show initiative and personal drive to continuously improve and develop the service.

We are looking to attract a talented individual to help bring about these changes and secure the long-term prosperity of the town, working with partners, and securing funding to support a programme of activities which will raise the profile of the town and improve the trading 'offer'.

You should:
have excellent communication and networking skills
be creative and confident
have commercial sector skills
be an experienced manager with a strong, but personable leadership style
be motivated in operating at a strategic level but also able to get out on the street and make a difference.

Hours of work are 28 per week to be worked flexibly over 4 to 5 days.
