ATCM Summer School 2009
The ATCM Summer School 2009 was a great success and we have had lots of positive feedback from those who attended. Based around a theme of 'Surviving the recession', the Summer School provided a cross-section of relevant, cutting edge workshops. Some highlights included:
- Top tips to tackle the challenges of the current economic situation with Martin Blackwell and Jacquie Reilly, ATCM; delegates were updated with the latest statics, future predictions and practical advice on the relevance based on the current situation.
- Vacant Shops: is there a magic solution? This round table workshop run by Simon Quin, ATCM, and supported by Smart City Dressing, saw almost 60 delegates sharing the problems they currently face and offering solutions to assist in addressing the issues surrounding filling, letting and using vacant shops.
- Shop local, a round table workshop facilitated by Toyubur Rahman, ATCM, had 45 delegates and explored the options that town centre managers have to encourage visitors and residents to shop locally and support local businesses.
